Month 1: I'm done for good
I’m not drinking anymore, ever. Initially this was going to be a year long thing but I think it’s clear I don’t want to drink ever again. I want to explain my thoughts about my decision and the main driver, the book that changed my life.
Are you tired of feeling controlled by alcohol? Are you ready to take back control of your life and break free from the grip of addiction? If so, "Alcohol Explained" by William Porter may be the game changer you've been looking for.
This book completely changed my perspective on alcohol and addiction. It helped me understand the science behind why I was probably addicted and how alcohol was affecting my brain and body. The author explains in detail how alcohol disrupts the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain, leading to addiction and various health problems. He also delves into the social and psychological factors that contribute to alcohol addiction and how to overcome them.
One of the most powerful takeaways from the book is the realisation that addiction is not a moral failing, but rather a disease that can be treated. This was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and gave me the motivation to make a change for good.
After reading "Alcohol Explained," I made the decision to quit drinking for good. And let me tell you, it feels amazing. I have more energy, my relationships have improved, and I no longer feel controlled by alcohol. I am in control of my life again.
If you are ready to break free from the grip of alcohol addiction, I highly recommend picking up a copy of "Alcohol Explained" by William Porter. It may just be the game changer you need to change your life for the better.
The book is available in audiobook, electronically or hardcopy.
I will continue to document my journey and try to help others. I hope you can follow along and if you need any help, please reach out.
