Getting educated

This week I started an Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set course. When deciding to stop drinking, I didn’t think I would be at this point only a couple of months in. Stopping drinking has had such a profound affect that I just need to know more about it. I need to understand why it’s only now, at 35, that the thought of stopping ever crossed my mind.

I need to know more about how to help my peers and the people that visit this website seeking help. I owe it to myself but all of you to become better educated to ensure information is accurate and that if someone comes to us for help, we can provide the best assistance.

We don’t want to be just a resources website at the end of the day. But we do know how limits, for now, we’re going to do what we’re good at, and that’s being a conduit for people who need help, to be able to find it. But one day we hope to be able to provide people with real, tangible help.

Hopefully by the end of this year, we will be better educated and passing on that knowledge to people and businesses that need it. For now we will continue to update the website like we have been doing, running our weekly catch ups every Friday in Melbourne CBD, and most importantly, our inbox is always open to anyone that needs help.
